Max’s Restaurant in Santiago City is now solar powered

Santiago City-- Max’s Restaurant, one of the famous Filipino casual dining chains in the country, has now shifted into using Renewable energy.


A report entitled “Unlocking Rooftop Solar in the Philippines” by Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analytics (IEEFA) stressed that the Philippines has one of the highest-priced electricity rates in ASEAN countries.


In the same report, it was also mentioned that rooftop solar power generation can lower electricity costs to P2.50 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) and can also trigger new investment of around $2.8 billion or P1.5 trillion by 2030.


Since 1970’s, solar panel prices have been steadily decreasing. According to solar-power providers, solar panel prices have gone down by 90 percent in the last 10 years and 50 percent in the last three years.
